Maikai had the ambitious goal of introducing a Brazilian superfood concept, açaí bowls, to the Icelandic market and beyond. They sought out our help to develop a franchise concept that would make their brand a successful fast-food alternative outside of its home market.
Building on three core qualities of indulgence, health consciousness and sustainability, we developed a comprehensive strategy for their açaí bowl bars that would kickstart their franchise network. The work culminated in a comprehensive manual that detailed the visual identity, brand story, store design, product display, recipes and employee guidelines for a successful franchise expansion.
Since our collaboration, Maikai has opened its very first bar outside of Iceland at Frederiksberg Center in Copenhagen.
